The Center For Nu Leadership on Urban Solutions: A Critical Community-Based Response to the Crisis of Mass Incarceration

With this tension in mind, one of the goals of my research, and the aspect that I will elaborate today, is to examine this imagined divide between reform and revolution and to explore the ways in which NU LEADERSHIP, a collectivity that emerged in a revolutionary moment has adapted its message and its methodology in order to resonate in a context in which “revolutionary consciousness does not exist”. I will argue that one of the ways that NU LEADERSHIP achieves this contemporary resonance is to engage in prison reform activities and by mobilizing the figure of the expert.”
